Welcome to Medical English! This ten-session course will cover language and vocabulary from many different medical topics including medical jobs, the human body, the doctor's office, illnesses and treatments, and much, much more! Classes will be interactive and fun, so we hope to see you there!
This is a scheduled 4:00 TWOL class for the advanced class. It is scheduled for 4:00 HAITI time. Which makes it 3:00 Central. You may join us from the Delmas classroom or you can join us via your own computer. Bring your friends!
This class involves ten sessions over the course of three weeks, for a total of ten hours of virtual classroom experience. You will have opportunities to practice conversation with fellow students and the instructor. This includes developing interview, critical thinking and conversational skills. The class will also focus on improving English vocabulary and phrases used in job interviews and social situations.
This class involves six sessions over the course of two weeks, for a total of 6 hours of virtual classroom experience. You will have opportunities to speak in English and have your pronunciation critiqued. You will also be able to improve your English vocabulary, as we will be reading articles about the news in the United States as well as other countries around the world. The class is flexible, and often we will spend time discussing issues that concern you as an English learner.
This class will discuss business presentations. Students will learn how to build presentations, how to present information in a formal, professional setting, and to share experiences in public speaking. Students can also expect to share best practices, cultural differences and audience management techniques with the class.
This is a conversation course for beginner or intermediate students focusing on pronunciation, grammar and natural conversation. The topic will be sports and entertainment. Students will learn vocabulary and expressions regarding attending sports events, concerts and movies in their city. Students will also learn about sports and entertainment from other countries around the world.
This English as a second language course will have 5 separate 1 hour sessions over the course of 3 weeks, for a total of 5 hours virtual classroom instruction time. The course is for learners who already have at least a base knowledge of the English language; ideally low-intermediate to intermediate skill levels. In each class, the focus will be on engaging the learners and giving them opportunities to speak in English with ample feedback provided. The goals of this course are to; improve the pronunciation of the learner's spoken English, improve the base of vocabulary of each learner, and to improve the grammar skills of each learner.
This class will discuss professional conduct and management techniques. Participants can expect to learn how to effectively mediate between parties, report accurately and understand professional conduct. Also, participants will learn vocabulary, expressions and grammar tools used to describe a variety of workplace situations.
