In our modern lives there is little emphasis on relaxation. Yoga Nidra is done lying on your back with eyes closed while the instructor puts you into a very relaxed state of being. The practice works on the central nervous system and helps to relax the body from the inside out. During the practice you will remain completely still and your brain waves will move into an alpha state. Yoga Nidra has been medically proven to help with anxiety, PTSD, depression and addiction.
This 2-class pack is free and is offered as an introduction into learning Qigong. What is Qigong? It is an ancient Chinese practice that is easy to learn and practice. Some of the benefits of Qigong include reducing stress and anxiety, boosting the immune system, decreasing pain and lowering blood pressure. The practice involves slow movements with long, slow breaths. The breath techniques help to improve lung capacity over time and can reverse respiratory concerns. If you cannot make the live sessions the recorded classes will be available for viewing later.
In this free 90 minute session you will learn correct alignment for several traditional yoga poses (including Mountain, Forward Fold, Plank, Downdog, Chair and Tree Pose) in order to prevent injury and to get the maximum benefit from each pose.
